Lara Hiers, PT (Clinical Director-Southeast)
Lara received a Master of Physical Therapy from Emory University in
1997. She has been a pediatric therapist for 9 years, working at
Bay Area Rehab Center and in local school districts. In June of
2003, she started Pediatric Rehabilitation of Pearland, which joined the
NTS family in June of 2005. Lara has a special interest in
treating kids with cerebral palsy, especially in wheelchair seating and
adaptive equipment. She is also a certified Therapeutic Electrical
Stimulation provider. In her spare time, Lara enjoys time with her
husband David and children Megan and Will playing sports, reading books
and enjoying the great family activities in the Houston area.
Monica Reagan, OTR/L
I received my bachelors degree in
Biomedical Science from Texas A & M (Go Aggies J).
I received my masters’ degree through Texas Women’s University. I love
working with all ages and all diagnoses. I have a wonderful husband and
the sweetest baby girl ever!
Kathy Burt, BS, OTR
Kathy received a Bachelor of Science degree
in Occupational Therapy from The University of Texas Medical Branch in
Galveston, Texas in May of 2000. Kathy began her career at Park Plaza
Hospital, followed by 6 years on the inpatient rehabilitation unit of
Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. She previously
worked at Pediatric Rehabilitation of Pearland for 1 year, and has now
been at Neurodevelopmental Therapy Services since March of 2007.
Kathy has continued her
education by taking advanced courses in sensory integration and autism
spectrum disorders. In 2004, she earned an Advanced Specialty
certificate in Pediatrics from Texas Woman’s University, where she is
currently working to complete her Master of Science degree in
Occupational Therapy. Away from the clinic, Kathy enjoys spending time
with her husband and two children, ages 4 and 2, as well as cake
decorating, scrapbooking, and traveling.
Stephanie Romo OT
Certified in Kinesiotaping and many hours
of continuing education in feeding disorders and treatment techniques.
Coordinator of Assistive Technology in Deer Park ISD.
Jenny Shelton, MS, CCC-SLP
Jenny earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and
Sciences degree with a specialty in Communication Disorders from the
University of Kansas in 1994. She received a Master of Science in
Speech -Language Pathology from Central Missouri State University in
1996. She has worked in a variety of settings including: Long Term
Care (3years), public schools (7 years) and private practice (4years).
She has primarily provided assessment and therapy for children from 2-17
years of age. She has experience working with children with a
variety of disorders. Jenny works at the Southeast location full
time.
Yoshika W. Williams, M.Ed., CCC-SLP
Yoshika is
a certified Speech-language pathologist who received her Bachelor's
Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology (July, 1999) and her
Master's Degree in Special Education (Communication
Disorders-December, 2001) from Southern University and A&M College
in Baton Rouge, LA. Currently, she has 4 1/2 years of
professional experience in providing assessment and treatment for
children between the ages of 2-12. She has experience in servicing
children with articulation/phonological disorder, fluency disorder,
language disorder, autism, hearing and visual impairments and
cerebral palsy. Also, Yoshika has experience with Augmentative
Communication Devices, Boardmaker and PECS. She works in an
independent school district in Houston, TX as a full-time
Speech-language pathologist and has experience working in other
settings such as pediatric outpatient, skilled nursing facility and
assisted living facility. She has attended numerous professional
workshops and trainings on articulation, fluency, language and
autism, stemming from a passion for servicing children with
disabilities, a strong belief in continual learning and a sincere
desire to serve parents and/or caregivers. Yoshika is excited to
join the Southeast team of professionals and is dedicated in helping
children become effective communicators!
Donna Tharp, ST
Donna received her associate degree at Kilgore College while
participating in the Rangerette organization. She completed her
bachelor degree in Speech Communication at UT Austin and received a
masters’ degree in Special Education from TWU in Denton. She has been a
speech therapist in Deer Park ISD for 29 years working with children of
all ages. Donna has been with NTS since 2005.
